What is CSS?
ANSWER -CSS stands for Central Superior Services . Federal Public Service Commission conducts this exam every year for induction of civil servant s(grade 17)
What is the required age limit for appearing in CSS exams
ANSWER-Lower age limit is 21 years while upper age limit is 28 years. Upper age limit relaxation is granted by two years up to 30 years for the candidates of backward areas as defined by the government.
What is fee for written examination?
ANSWER-Currently fee for written CSS examination is 2200 PKR.
Who is eligible to appear in css exams?
ANSWER-Every pakistani citizen with bachelors degree at least in second division (from HEC recognized university) is eligible for appearing in css exams.
What are the compulsory subjects in CSS exams?

Note : International Law can not be opted in combination with International Relations.In History subjects a candidate can select subjects up to 200 marks from code no 30 to code no 34.

Note : Urdu can not be opted in combination with regional languages. A candidate select one language from code no 47 to code no 50.
NOTE: The candidates will select from the optional subjects carrying a total of 600 marks.
What is the structure of CSS exams?
Written test is consist of total 1200 marks. Compulsory subjects carry 600 marks and optional subjects too carry 600 marks. To pass the written exams a candidate must get 40% marks in compulsory subjects and 33% marks in optional subjects. Over all aggregate marks should not be below 50 %.
All candidates except disabled must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect. Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be medically examined by special medical boards constituted for the purpose. If a candidate remains absent twice in his medical test he will automatically stand rejected and no appeal in this regard will be accepted. He will also lose his one chance. So it is highly recommended that candidates should get themselves examined by by MO of government hospital before applying for CSS.
Candidates called for viva voce will be required to undergo psychological test, comprising paper pencil test and group tasks. Separate marks are not awarded for psychological test ,however, 300 marks assigned to viva voce also reflect the performance in psychological test.
Viva voce consists of 300 marks and 100 are the passing marks. Each candidate will be interviewed by the viva voce board. Candidates will be asked questions on Islam, Pakistan, current affairs and general knowledge.
How many times a candidate can appear in CSS exams?
Answer-A candidate can appear maximum for three times in CSS exams.

Open merit 7.5%
Punjab including federal capital Islamabad 50%
Urban Sindh (Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkar)7.6%, Rural Sindh 11.4%
Northern Area and FATA 4%
Azad Jammu and Kashmir 2%
10% quota is reserved for women, except Merit quota
5% quota is reserved for Minorities, except Merit Quota.
