How to File An Online Or Manual Complaint In The Office of Federal Insurance Ombudsman Pakistan?
Common person buy insurance policy to save the future of his heirs but after his death insurance companies show reluctance in paying the insurance money to the legal heirs of the policy holder. Especially it’s a big problem in Pakistan. I am personally facing this problem as son in law of my uncle has died due to hear attack and in spite of paying regular yearly installments company is arising foolish objections. I sent them a legal notice and advice my uncle to file a complaint in the office of insurance ombudsman. Just then I thought to write a post on How to file a complaint in the office of insurance ombudsman. Ombudsman is basically an Islamic concept/institution which provides free speedy justice.

Office of insurance ombudsman was established in 2006 to resolve the insurance disputes, between policy holders and insurance companies of Pakistan. This institution charges no fee from complainant and there is also no need to hire a lawyer. You may present your case personally. Even no court fee is charged from complainant. Its an independent and autonomous institution which is working to provide easy and free justice to ordinary people.

Procedure
1-It’s mandatory for you for any complainant before filing a complaint to intimate the insurance company about his intention of filing a complaint. This intimation should be in written form.

2-If the company does not respond you within one month or you feel that the official reply is unsatisfactory then you may file a complaint but here you are bound to do so within three months.

3-Send your complaint with affidavit. Provide all the details about the matter in dispute and attach proofs in your favor (if any). Write your complete postal address, name and other contact details too.

4-Attach 3 the copy of notice sent to insurance company along with postal/courier receipt with your complaint. Send 3 sets of all required documents.

Points To Remember At The Time of Buying a Policy  
1-Read the terms and conditions carefully before buying a policy.
2-Never hide any required information or provide false information
3-Always buy a policy from a authorized agent of the company.
4-Deposit your premium through check in the name of company.
5-Visit the nearest office of the company before buying a policy.
6-Inform your legal heirs about the details of the policy.
