MCAT is an mandatory test for those students, who want to get admission in any medical or dental college of Pakistan. MCAT is the abbreviation of Medical College Entry Test. This test was introduced to ensure transparency in the medical colleges admission procedure but at the same times this test reflects the fact that we don’t trust our own examination system. MCAT test score remain valid only for one session so if you could not get admission in medical college after passing the MCAT for any reason then next year you will again have to appear in the test. PMDC has removed age limit for admission in medical and dental colleges so age is not an issue in MCAT.
Only those candidates can appear in the MCAT test who have got minimum sixty percent marks in F.Sc pre medical or any equivalent exam. If the candidate is awaiting result of F.Sc part 2 then he will have to submit hope certificate issued by the head of his last educational institution.
Provincial government of Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Baluchistan are responsible for organizing this test in their respective provinces. In Punjab provincial government has authorized University of Health Sciences Lahore to administer the test.
