Last Year Performance Report
Last year Punjab Education Commission could not announced the result of 5th and 8th grade on 31 of March 2014. As per media reports computerized record of 5th and 8th class result had been spoiled due to negligence of computer section of PEC, so all the students of 5th and 8th class had been declared successful. 2.5 million students appeared in the 5th and 8th class exams under PEC in 2014. Earlier Punjab Examination Commission decided that it will announce the result of 5th and 8th class on 31 of March 2014 but students and their parents could not access the PEC website on 31 of March 2014. There was a message on website that 5th and 8th class result will be announced soon. Parents of students tried to contact PEC authorities but could not do so. Newspaper reports say that PEC has celebrated the April fool with 2.5 billion students one day before first April. According to Yousuf Abbasi the educational reporter of daily express, PEC had also lost answer sheets of 5th and 8th grade students.
Punjab Examination Commission even could not ensure transparency in 5th and 8th grade exams as English and Mathematics papers were leaked during the 2014 exams but at that time PEC claimed that it was a conspiracy and a committee was formed to investigate the issue. The committee has not presented its report till now. Then education department Punjab investigated the issue and according to EDO education Dr Pervez Akhtar it was the responsibility of PEC to compile the result of 5th and 8th class and only PEC was responsible for this grave negligence.

This year too Punjab Examination Commission has failed to conduct the 5th & 8th grade exams smoothly. All the students of 5th class have been declared passed without paper checking. There are complaints that many papers have been been leaked. CM has again ordered an inquiry but all of us know that its a useless effort in fact Punjab Examination Commission has become a white elephant.
