Allama Iqbal Open University AIOU Mega Corruption Scandal of 2 Billion Rupees 2015
As per media reports corruption allegations were alleged on ex administration of Allama Iqbal Open University. As per daily Nawaiwaqt’s report senior authorities of AIOU were involved in the corruption of 2 billions rupees. Corruption was carried out in construction, transport, answer sheets and rough papers. Internal fact committee of AIOU has pointed out this mega corruption scandal. Internal fact committee has sent its report for further inquiry to National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
NAB initiated an inquiry about the corruption in various departments of Allama Iqbal Open University AIOU in 2012 but the administration of that time refused to cooperate with NAB in this regard. NAB was not given access to internal record. New Vice Chancellor of AIOU after taking the charge made a committee to investigate the corruption in various departments of AOU. Committee has reported that ex VC, registrar and many other high ranked officials of AIOU were involved in this mega corruption scandal. University’s own officIals have accused the AIOU authorities for the corruption of 350 million rupees.
