Aitchison College Lahore Entrance Test Exposed the Talent of Super Kids of Ruling Elite of Pakistan
Aitchison College entry test has exposed the talent of children of ruling class of Pakistan. Thanks to governor of Punjab Ch M Sarwar who introduced merit policy in Aitchison College Lahore, which was the sign of imperialist rule in subcontinent. Aitchison College was established in 1866 during colonial rule to provide Western education to children of feudal, land lords and ruling class.
Initially children of ordinary people were not allowed to get admission in this college but after the independence its admission policy was reviewed but a special quota was also reserved for the children of ruling class. But this year Governor Punjab abolished the quota system for children of VVIP’s. But when the entry test was taken for granting admission in O-Level in Aitchison College, majority of children of ruling class failed in the entry test. Total 25 close relatives of VVIP’s failed in the entrance test which exposed the talent of our ruling class. College refused to grant admission to all these “brilliant” students and declared that now only those students will be called for interview who will clear the initial pre admission entry test. Kinship and all other quotas have been abolished and college will grant admission purely on merit basis. In the past even many children were granted admission in spite on non availability of seats and failure in the written test.
As a whole it was a good decision of present government although they themselves became their victim of their own decision of implementing merit policy in all educational institutes. But still they continue the merit policy. We welcome this decision by present government as no country can make progress without implementing the merit policy in the education sector. But now quota system in all other educational institutes will also be abolished including Sadiq public school Bahawalpur which is a replica of Aitchison College Lahore.
