MS or Master of Science is a two year Master level program after 4 year BS/MSc or 16 years of education. Duration of different MS programs may vary from 1 year to 2 years. MS is consider equivalent to M.Phil and student can get admission directly in PhD after completing his/her MS degree. Many public and private universities in Pakistan are offering MS programs in a wide variety of subjects. You can not appear in MS exams as a private candidate only regular students can pursue for MS degree. Eligibility
16 years education in related subject is compulsory for getting admission in any MS program such as MSc, BS, MBA, MIT, M.COM, BSc (Hons), BE etc.
In most of the Pakistani universities candidates have to pass NTS– GAT- General test with minimum 50 percent marks. Some universities take their internal test for granting admission in Master of Science program.
Syllabus
The syllabus of MS program vary from program to program. But usually it is the mixture of theory, practical and research. Student have to write a thesis or research paper. Some Master of Science programs are completely research based. While some include course work too.
Scholarships
HEC awards number of foreign scholarships for various MS programs. So if you have good command over your subject and have good career history then you must apply for HEC scholarships. As an Master of Science degree from abroad can change your entire career.
