Punjab government has launched a new scholarship program for students of public universities. The name of this scheme will be “Chief Minister Punjab Talent Scholarship Program”. Talented students of public universities of Punjab will be granted fully funded foreign scholarships under this scheme. Initially 100 top male and female students of the provincial government universities will be given scholarships for study in the best universities of the world. Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has set up a committee under the supervision of Chief Secretary Punjab for presenting the recommendations in this regard. Committee will decide the matters related to subjects selection, eligibility criteria and procedural details. 1000 scholarships will be given to talented students for further higher study in top Pakistani students. Punjab government is also going to provide 300 scholarships to the students of province for learning the Chinese languages in China. 10% more quota has been reserved for the students of Southern Punjab. Selected students will be sent in the best universities of China. Students of other provinces will also be included in this program. 300 students will be given the advanced training of Chinese language in the second stage.
Brick kiln child workers of Punjab will also be given 100% free education and 1000 rupees monthly scholarships. 2000 rupees annual stipend will be given to the parents of such children. They will also be provided free medical facility. Free pick and drop facility will also be provided to brick kiln child workers.
