Computer hardware engineering is all about manufacturing of computer components such as chips, circuit, mother board, Processor, CPU, modems and other computer related equipment. Field of computer hardware engineering is closely related with electronics or electrical engineering but it deals just with computers and its related accessories.

Who should become Computer Hardware Engineer
A student who have passion for electronics and computer hardware should enter in this field. He must be able to work in a team as its a team work to develop or improve any computer accessory. Its not 8 to 5 job field as you may be called by your company any time for trouble shooting in their systems. So only innovative, dedicated, creative and hard working people should join this field.
Scope & Career opportunities for Computer Hardware Engineers

To be honest in Pakistan right now employment opportunities for computer hardware engineers are bit little. As there are very few  computer hardware companies are working in Pakistan. But this scenario is changing rapidly as upcoming information revolution in the country and introduction of 3G and 4G technologies will change the whole picture. Even now computer hardware engineers have great demand in networking field. All banks, government institutions and private organizations need their services for networking and maintenance of internal hardware. As presently country is not producing computer hardware engineers according to its needs so the competition in this field is less than other engineering fields.

You can start your own import export business of computer hardware as you will be able to handle it more effectively than a lay man. Such companies may also hire your services. Due to lack of human resource in this field in many institutes electrical/electronics engineers are teaching hardware and i personally know some of them. So there is vast opportunities for you in teaching line too.

You may also get good job in any foreign computer hardware company. As you are also taught basics of programming languages so many computer hardware engineers also work in both fields. Its not recommended but still its a another option for you. It will be better for your career to get master degree in the field. Our country need both software engineers and and hardware engineers so you should enter in this field with a mission to serve the nation.
