FPSC Introduces CSS Screening Test 2024, Composition, Passing Marks, Tips, Schedule, Paper Format, Apply Online
Federal cabinet of Pakistan has decided that screening test will be taken before CSS exam from 2024. All the CSS aspirants will have to clear this screening test first before appearing in CSS exam. Failed candidates in screening test will not be allowed to sit in central superior services examination. As per media news many members of cabinet opposed this suggestion as poor candidates will not be able to pay double fee. There was also a fear that students from underdeveloped areas will be out of CSS exam in this first round of screening test. But cabinet was informed large number of candidates from underdeveloped areas cleared the CSS exam in the past years, so now CSS screening test will be mandatory for candidates from all areas of Pakistan.
Format & Pattern of CSS Screening Test 2024 by FPSC
CSS screening test will be completed in one day. This test will be conducted from the year 2023. This exam will be taken from compulsory papers of CSS. There will be 20 marks of Islamiyat. Students from minority communities will be allowed to opt civics and ethics in spite of Islamic studies. There will 20 marks of Urdu and 50 marks of English. General Knowledge (GK) part of paper will be of 50 numbers and there will be 60 numbers of Mathematics/Algebra/Geometry/Analytical Reasoning. It means total marks of this screening test will be 200.
For clearing the CSS screening test a candidates will have to get at least 33% marks. This decision has been taken just for the candidates from backward areas so-that they may also be able to sit in CSS examination. Out of 200 marks a candidate will have to get minimum 66 marks for qualifying for CSS main exam. Remember that FPSC will conduct this CSS screening test too. FPSC will not follow the pattern and format of GRE oar SAT tests in this screening test. Now just intelligent students will be able to sit in CSS exam.
