E learning vision of Punjab Government

Punjab government is going to introduce smart schools e learning system in province of Punjab. Government has decided to train the etchers in the technique of more reading in less time. For this purpose in the first stage 30000 teachers from 7000 government schools and faculty members of 32 colleges and 9 universities will be trained through Pakistan reading project. With the cooperation of US aid three years associate degree is being introduced for specialized training in reading instructions.

This degree will comprise of eight semesters and all the under training teacher wail be given 20000 scholarship for each semester. Punjab government is also going to change 55000 government schools into centers of excellence in the coming two year. Smarts schools will be equipped with computer tablets. Government will also distribute more than one million computer tablets among the school students every year so that they may be able to down load their course from internet. All the books from class eight to class tenth will be converted on i pad sized computer tablet. Provincial minster for education said” Computer servers of smart schools will be connected with digital libraries”. He also said” Solar panels should be provided to schools in areas without electricity”.

He added that Punjab government is committed to promote education and literacy in the province Chairman Pakistan libraries association Dr M Ramzan said that he had prepared e versions of 3000 books for school students and 50000 books for university and college students. All these healthy signs indicate that how seriously present Punjab regime is striving to promote e learning in the province. We appreciate all these efforts as our country needs them badly. Other provinces should also follow educational policies implemented by Shabaz Sharif. We also hope that he will take more actions in this direction.
