New PMDC Rules, Regulations & Format/Structure For MDCAT Entrance Test 2024 in Pakistan
PMC has released new rules and regulations for MDCAT entry test 2024 in Pakistan. Total marks of MDCAT and MCAT entry tests will be 200 and those candidates will not be given admission 2024 in MBBS or BDS who will get less than 120 marks. There will be total 200 MCQs in the MDCAT paper. 68 MCQs will be about Biology, 54 about chemistry, 64 about physics and 18 about English. Each MCQ will carry one number. Earlier there was 1100 marks of MCAT and there was no concept of pass and fail. Now there will be no negative marking in these MDCAT and MCAT entry tests.

PMC has also taken back the authority of provinces for admission in medical and dental colleges. Now provinces will have authority only on 5 percent quota of seats. Those students will be expelled from medical or dental colleges who will fail in 2 chances. Minimum required marks for admission in MBBS will be 70% and 60% marks will be required for admission in BDS. PMC admission board will regulate the admission in MBBS and BDS programs of all provinces of Pakistan. This PM&DC admission board will make the policy for the MCAT entry test including the UHS Lahore MDCAT entry test and ETEA medical entrance test.

Provincial admission committees will complete the admission procedure as per the policies and instructions of PM & DC admission board. Pakistan medical commission will announces the seats of private and public medical & dental colleges in the month of August. Federal government will notify the seats of military cadets in the medical and dental colleges under Pakistan armed forces. 90% seats of each province will be for the students of that province but 10% seats may be reserved for students of other provinces.
Only those students can get admission on foreign seats who have been studied physically in the foreign countries. Students who want to get admission in public sector medical and dental colleges can give 3 choices. For admission in medical colleges of other provinces one can now give two options. Medical universities of all provinces will send the schedule of all professional exams to the PMC 3 months before the examination. Copy of professional exam result will be sent to PMC within the 30 days of announcement.

PM&DC will have write to check the papers of students. Medical and dental colleges will charge the fees as per the category and rating set by PMC, it means that fees of high standard colleges may be increased in the future. One academic year will be minimum comprised of minimum 9 months. Remember that earlier students of first and second professional exams could avail 4 chances for clearing their final exams while students of 3rd, fourth and fifth professional were given unlimited chances for clearing the exams, but they will be given only two chances.
