Central Marking System Will Be Introduced By PBCC For Science Practicals in Punjab
Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) has decided to introduce central marking system for Science practicals of Matric science group. Practical copies and answer sheets will be sent to related board of intermediate and secondary education without marking. On the spot marking system has been eliminated to ensure transparency as it was noticed that students belonging to influential class try to approach the examiner for getting maximum marks in science practical.
Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) has formed a five members committee to make a formula for marking of science practicals. But this committee unanimously has decided that just like answer sheets of other papers, science practical marks will also be given under central marking system. It is a right decision to some extent as in a science practical exam just writing skill of students is not judged, so in our opinion there should be some in between formula like 50, 50 %.
I mean to say that as far as performance in a practical is concern it should be leave on examiner to give marks for it and marks for practical book and theory questions should be given under central marking system. Now when private candidates are allowed to appear in Matric Science group exams, they should be given facility of practical exam preparation in government schools on nominal charges. Government schools can generate extra revenue through this method for improvement of their infrastructure. What is your pinion in this regard. Such formula should also be introduced in higher classes. We also can not understand that why Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) changes its policies so frequently.
