ALL ABOUT PRIME MINISTER’S FEE REIMBURSEMENT (SCHOLARSHIP) SCHEME 2022-23

Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme 2022 has been officially launched. Under this scheme scholarships will be awarded to students of master and higher classes(MA, MSc, MS, MPhil, PhD) belonging to under developed areas of Pakistan. Both male and female students can apply for scholarships under Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme 2022-23. Government will directly pay the tuition fee (Including other mandatory academic charges) of scholarship winner students to their related educational institutions.

 

 

Eligibility
Both male and female students of remote and under-privileged areas who have been enrolled in any Master or doctorate level program in university which is approved by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, can apply for scholarship under Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme 2022. List of approved universities is available at HEC website.
Students must have the domicile of any of the following area

1-Interior Sindh
2-South Punjab
3-Balochistan

4-Selected under developed areas of KPK – Chitral, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Swat, Bunner, Shangala, Malakand, Kohistan, DI Khan, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Batgram, Kala Dhaka/Torghar, Kohat, Bannu,

Hangu, Karak
5-Giligit Baltistan
6-Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA)
8- Azad Jammu and Kashmir
9-Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar and Attock

PRIME MINISTER’S FEE REIMBURSEMENT SCHEME 2022

 

Amount of Scholarship
Up to 40000 rupees rupees annual tuition fee (Including other mandatory academic charges)  will be paid under this scheme. About 30000 students will be awarded scholarships. Government has reserved 1.2 billion rupees for Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement (Scholarship) Scheme in the current year. HEC will execute and monitor the scheme. While ministry of Education will implement the scheme at grass root level.

 

Ineligibility
Domicile holders of unapproved areas and universities.
Students who are availing any kind of scholarship from HEC, federal or provincial government or any other organization are not eligible.
Only full time students are eligible for scholarships under this scheme.
Students who have got admission on self finance basis are also not eligible.
Distance learning and evening students are also not eligible.
Students enrolled in any diploma, Bachelor, or 4 years bachelor degree program.
Mater, MSA and M.Phil students of underdeveloped areas who have got admission in the university outside their domicile areas.

 

Application Procedure
New Students
If you meet the eligibility criteria then visit official PMFRS portal http://pmfrs.hec.gov.pk. New admissions seeking admission may apply though new registration tab available on portal for recommended sessions.New students will have to apply online till 00-04- 2022.

 

 

Current Students
Data of ll ongoing eligible students is being managed online at http://pmfrs.hec.gov.pk. You are directed to validate your record, otherwise you will not be considered eligible for Prime Minister’s fee reimbursement scheme 2022. Prime Minister has launched following schemes too for the youth of Pakistan.

    I am student of far flung area of Gilgit Baltistan studying in
    M.Sc Forestry at Pakistan Forest Institute Peshawar,due to following genuine reasons;
    1.We do not have any such faculty in Karakorum international University
    2.We are selected on provisional seats through NTS
    3.Belonging from remote undeveloped area
    Inspite of fulfilling all the requirements mentioned in PM Fee Reimbursement scheme on official website we were not considered by HEC Regional Director Peshawar saying that we do not have the domicile of the same area where institute is located.So we were eliminated from the list beneficiaries on 2nd June.
    Such steps creates the sense of discouragement and demoralization among the youth of GilgitBaltistan in PFI,Peshawar
    So, kindly consider our request for this programme on humanitarian ground.

  18. we belong to Dera Ismail Khan KPK, recently i have attented cermuny at peshawar and received a cheque of 17000. we are enroled in mphil programe and payed 45000 fee/ all other studebnts of kpk universties mphil programed received 67000.

    • DG khan is included, i have checked personally and post graduate colleges are also included. Show the information from HEC site to authorities of your college.

  57. a.o.a..sir i m from bannu studying my M-Phil in Gomal university D.I.K…the list of eligible areas initially didn’t include bannu but later on through a notification Bannu,tank,lakki marwat etc. were included in it.how ever on hec site the list still doesn’t contain these areas in eligible areas although i personelly saw this notification at University of Peshawar and Gomal university…kindly help me whether bannu is included or not in eligible areas??
    moreover when will the students get back there money??
    plz guide me whether only tution fee will be refunded or full fee?

    • Contact to your university authorities as they are liable to send the list of eligible candidates to HEC and you must show them the copy of notification too. Up to 40000 rupees they are refunding.

  76. i am the student of MBA(1.5) University of Peshawar in evening shift but there is only 2500 difference in fees of morning and evening shift. morning fee is 25000 and evening fee is 27500. now i am in evening shift. am I eligible for pm fee reimbursment scheme or not and belonging to FATA.

    • I do not think so as evening classes lies under self finance. But you should reconfirm it from your university as they will prepare the list of eligible candidates.

I contacted my university and they told that i am ineligible because of my admission date though january 2013 Phd students were considered in my department for this scheme.     I am PhD student(5 year degree program) having domicile of interior Sindh . enrolled in oct 2011 in a punjab university.I come to know about the scheme in jan 2013 and applied for his scheme Oct 2013(when university notified for submission of application for this scheme). But my university rejected my application as i am also a govt servant. If Part time students are ineligible, How part time student will be defined as i have taken full load of credit hours and my attendance was also > 75% and doing my PhD research work where i am employed. It will be an injustice if students like me (taking full load of credit hours of each semester)will not be benefited by this scheme.I had send the query regarding this problem to email address mentioned in HEC website but had not received any reply.
    Kindly tell me that can i be benefited by this scheme as i am a student who is enrolled in oct 2011(i may only get reimbursement of current year only and On/Off mandatory charges of PhD program).

      No indication is there that evening shift candidates are ineligible.

  113. sir i belong to fata.all my classfellow received a cash of 65000/ but i received 40000,because the university of islamia peshawar did a typing mistake as i am student of m.phil and they send me as a student of m.sc and because of this i got less amount.now hec announce to validate data.again for me m.sc is mention and no editing is allowed.so what should i do…???

  118. aoa.mam I validated my data for fees reimbursement on 17 December.bt still on 23 December I did not receive any email from hec.my other class fellows who also validate at that date ,received mail immediately. I am student of M.Phil. from Multan.kindly pay attention to my problem and solve my problem.
