Punjab Government Student Green Card Scheme 2022
Students are given special facilities in all Western countries. Specially they are given discount on road travel. Mr Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (Ex PM of Pakistan) also launched such a scheme about 40 years ago. Students had to pay half fare on showing the special student card issued by public transport company. Later on this scheme was canceled by the later government.
Now Punjab government has decided to subsidize the road travel for students. Initially this scheme is being launched in Lahore city. Name of this scheme is student green card scheme. Its another great imitative by CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. Students will be provided this student green card free of cost without taking any annual fee.
Students of all government schools of Lahore can get benefit from this student green card scheme. Students have to pay just 10 rupees fare for any destination within the city. This student green card scheme is both for boys and girls. Students will be issued special student green card and on showing this card they will be charged just 10 rupees. Student green card will be useful in the buses of Lahore Transport Company on all operational routes of AC and non AC buses. Government schools will have to get themselves registered in the office of Lahore Transport Company.
