State Bank of Pakistan SBP Has Issued The Guiding Principles For Asaan Account Opening
State Bank of Pakistan has issued the guidelines for asan account. Every one will be allowed to open asan account with just 100 rupees balance in any bank of Pakistan. There will be no condition for minimum balance. Account opening form will comprise of just one page. Online A/C opening facility will also be available. Account holders will be able to operate their account through cheque book and ATM card. Initially account holders will given ATM card but they will be able to apply for check books too. SMS, internet, mobile banking and other facilities will be provided on optional basis. Banks will be allowed to offer asan account in the form of current or saving account. Applicants will have to provide following details at the time of A/C opening.

Father’s Name
Date of Birth
Birth Place
Name of Spouse
Mother before marriage name
Contact details etc
Computerized national identity card will be mandatory for every one. Banks will be allowed to open the accounts on the door steps of their customers. Maximum credit limit for a month will be .5 million and same will be maximum monthly debit limit. Banks will be bound to follow the instructions of SBP and in case of noncooperation customers will be able to file complaint against the bank authorities for the violation of SBP rules. State bank of Pakistan has taken this initiative just to provide banking facilities to the all classes of the society. This step will promote the branch less banking too in the country.
