USEF Pakistan Full Bright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program FLTA 2025 For English Teachers

The United States Educational Foundation (USEFP) has invited applications from English teachers for USEF Full Bright  Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) program 2025. Its a 9 month program and selected candidates from Pakistan will have to teach Urdu and Pashto in different American universities and colleges during the 9 month grant period which will begin in fall 2025. (Can somebody explain my they want to learn Pashto language not any other local language?).

 

 

Last Date For Submission of Application

Its a national merit base program but still women, disable persons and university and college teachers of English belonging to FATA, KPK, AJK, Giligit & Baltistan, Baluchistan, Northern Sindh and Southern Punjab will be given preference. Last date for submission of applications is 3rd April, 2024. TOEFL test is mandatory for this program. Fulbright FLTA selected candidates will have to leave USA immediately upon completion of the program. Selected candidates are not allowed to take their dependents to USA.

 

 

Points to Remember

The FLTA Program is a 9 months, U.S. Department of State funded, non-degree program that provides young teachers of English an opportunity to refine their teaching skills, increase their English language proficiency and extend their knowledge of the society and culture of the United States, while teaching their native language to U.S. students and strengthening foreign language instruction at U.S. colleges and universities. Fulbright FLTA participants also interact with their host communities in conversation groups, extracurricular activities, and community outreach projects.

 

Eligibility Criteria For USEF Scholarships

Citizen of Pakistan with valid passport.
Applicant must be resident in Pakistan throughout the nomination and final selection process.
Applicant’s age must be between 21 to 29 years at the time of applying.
Fluent in English and must have passed the TOEFL test. Minimum score in TOEFL must be 220(CBT) or 90(IBT).
Applicants must have completed at least 16 year of education.
Applicant must be an English language teacher at college or university level OR have some training to become an English language teacher.
Candidates with prior teaching experience will be preferred.

 

 

Fulbright scholarship’s Detail

This program covers the tuition fee, return air ticket, books/stationary, living stipend and health insurance of the selected candidates.

 

 

Application Procedure For USEF Scholarships

First of all download the application form from the link given below. Then submit dully filled form with attested copies of all required documents at the following address by registered post. Remember that courier service is not allowed to carry any thing to a PO Box address. It is also highly recommended that you should submit an soft copy of your application too. You will receive a receipt of your application by USEFP by email. Short listed candidates will be called for interview in Islamabad. Selected candidates will be notified by phone while rejected candidates will receive an email about their rejection.
