How to Report or Block Stolen Mobile Phone in Pakistan? Step By Step Procedure in Urdu & English
If you have lost your mobile phone handset then you may block it by informing PTA. Any one can inform PTA about his/her misplaced mobile set through following methods;
1-You may call at helpline number 0800-25625.
2-You may also send email to PTA at imei@pta.gov.pk.
3-Visit the PTA headquarter or your nearest PTA zonal office.
4-You may also lodge your complaint about stolen/misplaced or snatched mobile phone by calling at helpline number of Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) i.e 021-35682222, 021-35662222 or 1102.
Requirements For Filling Complaint
1-All IMEI’s of misplaced cell phone
2-Sim number (Which was being used in misplaced mobile phone)
3-Brand, model and colour of stolen phone
4-Date of Incident
5-Name of owner
6-CNIC #
7-Father Name/Mother Name
8-Complete Address
9-Current Phone Number
How to Check The Current Status of Phone After Lodging Complaint?
1-You may check the status of blocking after 16 business hours of reporting. Here are different methods for checking the cell phone’s status;
2-Send 15 digits IMEI via message to 8484.
3-Visit the portal : https://www.dirbs.pta.gov.pk/
4-Use android application (DVS) for checking the status of mobile phone.
In case of successful blocking of your device you will see following message on your current phone screen;
” Your cell phone (IMEI#) has been blocked by PTA because of reported theft/misuse”.
Important Note
PTA can just block your mobile phone. For searching or tracking the mobile device you will have to contact the local police station. Remember that its a crime to lodge a false report. You may check the IEMI of any mobile phone by dialing #06#. You may also check it in the setting of mobile phone. IEMI is also written on device box.
