F.Sc Pre Medical Career, Scope, Eligibility, Scope & Further Study Options
In matriculation students have to choose science or arts subjects. After matriculation science students have chose a specific line of science i.e medical or non medical or engineering. The students who want to become doctor of medicine opt F.Sc Premedical after matriculation. FSc premedical is the door way to world of medical sciences. Its a two year program and papers of both years are taken separately. FSc Premedical is considered equal to A level. If you want to join medical line then you have to clear F.Sc with good marks. After FSc premedical student have to appear in entry test in Pakistan for getting admission in medical or dental college. So you can not afford to say good bye to studies even after final exams of F.Sc as you will have to appear in MCAT entry test within a short period of time.

Eligibility and Merit of FSc PreMedical
Only students with matriculation/O level with science subjects can get admission in FSc premedical. Candidate must have biology subject in matriculation with physics and chemistry. As students with Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science can not get admission in F.Sc Premedical. Merit varies from one institute to other.
Many private colleges give admission without any merit which is not recommended as if you don’t have good marks in matriculation then you should try for some other field like I.C.S, I.Com or FA. You can not appear in F.Sc exams as a private candidate but you can join this program through distance learning in AIOU. In AIOU F.Sc Pre-Medical is a 4 semester program with 8 credit hours. In Sindh province F.Sc Pre-Medical is also taught in Urdu.

Further Study Options After FSc Pre-Medical
Some years ago very limited options were available after FSc premedical in Pakistan. But now the scenario has changed a lot. If you could not get admission in MBBS or BDS still there are many options for you for further study such as D Pharm, DPT, M.B.B.S from China, D.V.M, B Pharmacy B.H.M.S, B.U.M.S.BS Bioinformatics, Bachelor of Biotechnology (BBT).
After FSc pre Engineering you have more options to proceed forward than Fsc pre medical. But if you could not get admission in your desired medical field and you want to change your line then you can appear in additional paper of Mathematics. Students who do not go to professional institutes can opt Bachelor of Science (B.Sc). You can also do the Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Commerce B.Com degree/B.Com IT.
